CHOCOLATE

and with 2 weeks off school and the threat of snow (apparently!)

then there couldn’t be a better time for this fabulous Guest Post from the lovely Emily

Crispy nests with a twist – two recipes

Chocolate crispy cakes with Mini Eggs on them? What more could you want? Chocolate crispy cakes with Mini Creme Eggs on them too? Oh, ok then.

Here’s how it’s done.

Milk chocolate crispy cake nests

Ingredients

  • 300g milk cooking chocolate
  • Roughly 150g of cornflakes
  • 1 tube of Cadbury mini eggs
  • 12 fairy cake cases

Instructions

  • Break up the chocolate into a large bowl and melt in the microwave
  • Line a 12 hole bun tin with cake case
  • Crunch up the cornflakes (Joel loved that bit) and mix in the chocolate
  • Divide the chocolate between the cases evenly, pushing down a little so that they hold their shape
  • Push three mini eggs into each nest
  • Leave to set

White chocolate crispy cake nests

  • 300g white cooking chocolate
  • Roughly 150g of rice crispies
  • 1 pack of Cadbury Mini Cream Eggs
  • 12 fairy cake cases

Instructions

  • Cut six mini cream eggs in half by pressing a knife along the seam line (definitely a grown-up job) and set aside
  • Break up the chocolate into a large bowl and melt in the microwave
  • Line a 12 hole bun tin with cake case
  • Mix the rice crispies into the chocolate
  • Divide the chocolate between the cases evenly, pushing down a little so that they hold their shape
  • Push one mini cream egg half on to the top of each nest
  • Leave to set

Fun, easy, looks kinda cool. Let me know if you give it a try
