When cooking make up extra and freeze it – this way you are less like to reach for the take-a-ways and processed ready meals – this will also help with your Zero Waste – of packaging and energy.
Eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day – why not have a smoothie, replace your crisps for a banana as a quick snack. Why not have a veggie box delivered – you can try new foods, eat things in season, and support local farmers.
Cut out fizzy drinks. Instead have milk, water or fruit juice – you’d be surprised at how much money you can save by cutting out fizzy drinks and swapping to water too!
Cut down on your sugar intake – in hot drinks, on cereal – and keep an eye on how much sugar is in the food /drink you are consuming.
Don’t drink alcohol – or cut down.
Don’t add salt to food – whilst cooking or at the table. Or at least reduce the amount you use. Try tasting the food rather than just having the shaker at the table and automatically adding it.
Meal Plan – this way you are less tempted to eat junk/snack and can ensure you are balancing things out.
