Poppy Cat @ Birmingham’s National Sea Life Centre

We are very excited to be visiting Birmingham’s National Sea Life Centre this Saturday, as we will be able to take a fascinating journey discovering a magical underwater world filled with a dazzling array of amazing creatures from the coastline to the depths of the ocean. The boys are in for an extra treat as starting from last Saturday (14th September 2013) until Sunday 29th September Coolabi’s Poppy Cat, the top 10 rated show on Nick Jr, ITV1 and CITV will be there to meet young fans and take part in underwater adventures. This is a promotion which also sees the launch of a new parent and toddler midweek ticket – which means that an adult and child under 5 years old will pay only £12 to gain entry.

The toddler midweek ticket special offer is only available outside of school holidays (term-time only) and includes admission to SEA LIFE Birmingham and unlimited access to all of the attractions. The offer is valid from Monday to Friday to visit any time between 10am and 4pm, for admittance of one adult and one child aged 5 years or younger. There must be a child of under 5 years to book the ticket option, and under 3 years old are admitted free.

Those not familiar with Poppy – she is described as “a capable, endearing, and determined six year-old ginger tabby cat. She’s an adventurer, a dreamer, and a devoted friend. Poppy Cat’s heroic gusto and unquenchable curiosity propel each adventure for her and her friends, often leading to unexpected experiences and discoveries. She is highly conscious of those around her and will go to the ends of the Earth to solve a problem. Poppy Cat loves adventure, but her top priority is always her friends, which is why she is the unspoken leader of her little gang. She’s the glue that holds them all together,” (source, Nick Jr ).

Poppy Cat and her friends embark on exciting journeys told with humour and great heart, which take the gang through fantastical lands. The stories provide pre-schoolers with a vehicle into their own potential for imaginative and creative play.

Throughout the day (11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm & 4:30pm) there will be chances to meet Poppy Cat with story reading sessions – based on the ‘All Aboard’ Adventures, and a chance to get active by doing the energetic “Copy Poppy” dance routine – (this encourages families to mimic the costume characters’ movements including the popular dance move “the swim” all in time with the theme tune from Poppy Cat).

During the event Nick Jr. is airing underwater themed Poppy Cat episodes – so that the fans can continue their adventures at home! As well as on the website http://nickjr.co.uk will have exciting underwater content alongside Poppy Cat clips, games and activities

  1. We are really looking forward to this too. I’m a bit worried how the girls will react though – they can be a bit scared of giant dress up creatures.
