Journey Buddies #Review

journey buddies review

Journey Buddies are a fantastic pocket-size travel fun kit from Cardoo; with stickers, DIY postcard, puzzles, colouring in and a board game. Aimed for those ages 5-10 years old, they are perfect for journeys that are short on space. They do not take up much room in the luggage either. We used ours in our holiday homes but they would have also been ideal on the ferry, in the car, on a plane, in a train, bus – or just about anywhere! We received two perfect packs for us to review for our vacation – ‘At the beach’ (which is where we spent most of our time) and ‘Dinosaurs’ (which we went hunting for).

These were mainly tested by my 6 year old son, but my four and ten year olds also joined in to play the board games. The packs could have easily been given to my 6 year old to use by himself, with his brothers, or in our case as a parent and child bonding experience. I learnt about things that he had been doing at school – such as symmetry whilst explaining to me how he was completing the picture of the ‘naughty crab.’ The kits were good for his observation skills (following the string to find the kite, spotting which shells weren’t a pair, spot the difference, and so on).

The kits contained everything required, including crayons and a dice (made using cardboard and stickers so it started off flat). The packs held my son’s interest for a long time as there were a variety of activities such as a maze, crosswords, word-search, hidden objects, quizzes, colouring-in, dot-to-dot, and our favourite activity was the creating a scene with stickers.

I think this is a fantastic, well thought out product and would be of interest to children younger and older than the 5-10 target audience. I liked how it takes up very little room and nothing else is needed. I would certainly consider buying one for our next holiday.

Journey Buddies cost £3.50.

Also available: Day at the Zoo, Fire Rescue, Journey Under the Sea, Time machine!, At the Ballet! and Ponies!

We received two Journey Buddies packs in return for this review. No other financial compensation was given. All words and opinions are my own.

  2. This looks like a lot of fun! Jack is a bit of a nightmare when we go on long journeys atm – he is too old to just sleep all the way there but too young to be trusted with most activities!

  3. These bundles are great! We always used to get one for my eldest and I’m sure we will do when the twins are old enough! x

  4. Great review and exactly what I needed! I am planning on taking the boys on a long trip up north so they will have some time to spend on the train, and as they rate not known for their ability to sit quietly and look at the view, this looks so much better than playing on the iPad!
