Mum’s Summer Bucketlist #HealthHop

If you are an organised Mum then you may already have things planned to do over the Summer. But have you thought about yourself?

Keeping the smalls occupied and fed, possibly working and keeping the house clean can be a real emotional drain. I think it is important to make sure you have plenty of healthy snacks for yourself.

Also why not treat yourself to a bunch of flowers to brighten the place up and keep you in a good mood.

For your own mental health I think it is important to plan things for you. Give yourself something to look forward to. I intend to plan something for each week as a treat.

If you do have an opportunity for someone else to look after the children whilst you have a treat then do remember to checkout money saving websites for good local deals. Not only are you saving money but you are supporting local businesses too. Or ask about on Facebook if there is someone local who you could support.

  1. The boy has been trying to join in my exercises with me lately. It is hilarious although his jumping jacks are getting much better. He pulls the most awesome faces which I had thought were hilarious until I realised he was just copying me!

  2. What a lovely idea Joy, lots of lovely things to keep us mums happy! I had my first manicure in I can’t remember how long on Saturday, and am looking at my gorgeous shiny purple nails as we speak 🙂 Also I’m on a mission to get my fitness back over the summer, and went on a power walk this morning which was fab!

  3. I am just starting to think about the summer holidays, and currently making a list of activities. But I think I need to push me up the agenda too – give myself a treat or too, go for a lovely massage or something…. :o)

  5. Lots of great tips there Joy – I think the healthy snacks one is particularly important – for mum and for the kids. Drinking lots of water is so crucial too. I’ve noticed that almost every time DorkySon and I have a grump at each other it’s because one or both of us is hungry and thirsty. Got to keep those energy levels up! x

  6. Genius! Why did I not think about this while I am busy booking the kids days and fun up! I am sneaking off for a weekend with the girls in August though, couldn’t be better timed. I always try and have a few nights out too as you can guarantee a lie in the next day!

  7. I am already starting to wonder how the summer holidays are going to pan out. It’s so easy to get caught up in work and entertaining your children, that you forget to look after yourself too. I do regularly buy myself flowers however, I am in desperate need of a manicure and pedicure, haircut, ALL OF THE ABOVE 😉

  9. Crafting is something I really, really miss doing.I don;t know how I fell out of doing any as it was what I did every day even when I was working and had babies.I must write your list done and make sure I do something ‘for me’ every week.
