Disney Infinity Play Without Limits 3.0

Disney Infinity Play Without Limits 3.0 will be available to buy in the UK from Friday 28th August 2015 – so we were invited along to a sneak preview at what the new game is like. The boys happily played the new Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars and Inside Out Play Sets. They got into the new game easily, enjoying the new features, characters and storyline and couldn’t wait to get back home to play Disney Infinity 2.0 again whilst they wait for the new one to come out. Whilst they played I found out some more information on the developments of the new Disney Infinity Play Without Limits 3.0.

About Disney Infinity 3.0

Disney Infinity is an interactive gaming platform where figures (based on beloved Disney characters) are placed onto the Base to enter a story to explore worlds. There they will battle enemies, solve puzzles and complete missions. The new Disney Infinity 3.0 has had its price brought down to £45-£50 (dependent on console), and is made even cheaper by allowing users to reuse their Base. In Toy Box mode players can mix up the characters, mix up locations and build whatever they can think of – giving them the ability to build their own adventure. You can also download for free tons of great Toy Boxes created by the community.

There is now more skill and less button bashing involved – for example with the addition of the Force Push and Force Pull ability – which changes the combat mechanic. Characters have different skills, moves and abilities that they can bring to the game. Figures from previous editions are backwards compatible, and the great thing about the game is that you do not need to buy all the characters to complete the game, and there are no limited edition figures – ensuring that children can easily get hold of all their favourite characters at no extra cost. Players will be able to unlock the ability for all Star Wars characters to play inside all of the Star Wars Play Sets, as well as in the newly enhanced Toy Box, along with all characters previously released for Disney Infinity.

We were invited to a Disney Infinity 3.0 Preview and received free Star Wars themed merchandise. No other financial incentive has been given. All opinions are my own.

  1. It looks fabulous, I’m loving the Inside Out figures over Star Wars but I was never a Star Wars fan. This is on Roo’s wish list, and has already started asking family members to get her the additional characters for birthday/Christmas

  5. We haven’t had the previous games, but my son has played them at a friend’s. I think he’ll be interested in this one because of the Star Wars side of things.

  6. Am always a little wary of games that have all the add on purchases, can end up pricey – but I still think my boys would enjoy this one – maybe on the xmas list this year!

  7. Ha, I have always wondered why these things were so dear in Tesco, thank you for the explanatory blog post. They sounds like the civilized future of gaming and something a child could “grow into” so to say!xx
