Booking your Sun Holiday for 2017

  • Regularly readers will know that I always tend to book our family holiday in January ahead of Blue Monday. This year it falls on Monday 16th January and is the day when prices tend to rise for those wishing to travel. If you have money ahead of the post-Christmas payday, or even a credit card then this is probably the best time to book*  besides I think it is nice to have something to look forward to now that the Christmas decorations are down.Sun Holiday Codes 2017

There are many different ways to book your holiday to get the best deal for you and it is worth considering them all. One of the main things to consider is if you want everything provided for you. For instance I could not wait and have booked to take the family to Italy. The boys have never been on an aeroplane and really want that experience. It made sense for me to go for a holiday where I could pay to have the linen and towels provided for me – so I do not have to worry about squeezing them into our case. I have to admit that I did not take my own advice and jumped in and booked through the Daily Mail holidays before checking how much it would cost to book direct (fortunately it was the same price but it is most likely easier to make any changes directly). There were options to go all-inclusive but when this turned out to be a thousand pounds extra I decided that it would be nicer to experience the local cuisine and having that interaction in ordering it.

I usually book through the Sun Holidays with their £9.50 and £15 deals. I share the code words online so that it is not necessary to buy the paper – adding them as they become available. The first BONUS code word is SWIM and then from Saturday 7th January 2017 more will appear until there is the 10 code words needed to book. This year there are over 330 holiday destinations across the UK and Europe (see park list). See my previous Sun £9.50 Holidays post for other things to think about before you book.

The Code Words you will need for your Sun Holiday:

SWIM, SOFT. ANEW, BUDS, CALF, LAMB, DEER, FULL, FOAL, K8F6

The Sun Holidays in Europe cover France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Austria and Croatia – see my previous post on a Sun Holiday in Europe. If you are prepared to drive there too, these breaks are super affordable for going abroad. I previously wrote about going to Disneyland on a Budget.Disneyland Paris on a Small Budget

Booking is open on the 15th January for previous bookers (but usually early hours) and 16th for new bookers. Visit: https://www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk/

  1. Ooh I had no idea about the prices rising after that time, that seems really early! I’d definitely book now if we were in a position to do so but sadly I don’t think we’re ready just yet. Italy sounds exciting, you’ll have a brilliant time.
