Elmore Court Wedding Venue

Elmore Court is an exclusive use party and luxury wedding venue in Gloucestershire. This Grade II listed building has a contemporary feel without losing its original character. First opening its doors in November 2013 it has opened its doors to a second phase of development – including doubling the size of its guest accommodation, an alternative master suite and a new Bridal ‘Wedding Eve’ Prep Pad.

Exclusive Wedding Venue at Elmore Court

From the night before until the morning after you and your guests can enjoy the special day without being surrounded by strangers (or other brides!). The Former Coach House has been transformed as a relaxing apartment for the Bride and her bridesmaids (sleeping up to 6). With its own driveway and parking which also offers total privacy from the main house (and sound proofing too!). This is a family friendly venue and knowing that other people will not be around means that guests can relax even further about their children playing in the picturesque grounds.

Elmore Court offers the complete package with wedding generally taking place in the main hall and the reception in the newly built rammed earth balloon The Gillyflower. This has the capacity for up to two hundred guests for a sit down banquet. With plans to restore the Court’s Victorian kitchens to create a tasting room and further dining areas, as well as a new building linking the main house to The Gillyflower for bespoke catering kitchens in 2018.

New Guest Accommodation at Elmore Court

The new Bride pad is over two floors and has two bedrooms – one with an emperor sized bed, two bathrooms, a snug room with double sofa bed and kitchen/diner. Birds and the Bees Timorous Beasties wallpaper decorate the main entrance area wall with curtains and binds by James Hare. The kitchen is Little Greene Company’s ‘canton’ deep teal.

As well as the existing Master Suite the room formerly known as the ‘Smoking Room’ is a serious contender as a Bridal Suite. Its ‘emperor’ sized oak sleigh bed has a grand Colfax and Fowler pelmet and an 18th century chaise longue help to fill the elegantly neutral designed room which overlooks the walled garden and South lawn. The spoiling wood panelled bathroom with a super deep ‘Niederbronn’ Catchpole and Rye cast iron bath and marble tiling further add to this room.

The main house now has accommodation suitable for a young family know that the space has been freed up by owner Anselm Guise and family moving into a separate house down the road. A further eight luxury bedrooms have been added to the existing eight already available (well nine if you count the current Bridal Suite which is made up of two adjoining bedrooms) – totalling to 45 guests who can stay overnight during weddings and events. The Nursery is a new suite set up for families with a double and single bed an additional children’s bed or cot can be added when required). The rooms are all a generous size which means children have the freedom to play. Plus the beds are so massive and comfy I am sure you could fit plenty of people in them! The General’s Room (named after a long-time tenant of this previous apartment and great friend of the Guises) has a double and bunk beds (again with additional children’s beds or cots can be added in this very spacious room). Cheekily another new room on the same level has been called The Private’s Room.

Now even more ideal for families the rooms have access to a spacious house kitchen which allows families to prepare meals for children as well as a communal space and place to get a cup of tea and chill. Other touches little family touches I like are a chair which was placed in the bathroom (which is ideal for those who wish to discreetly breastfeed) and a new 24 hour licence for residents with Elmore developing a bespoke mobile cocktail bar which will be introduced shortly to serve guests at any hour in any part of the Main House – and what better place than somewhere you know you can safely tuck the kids up when they get tired and carry on celebrating!

The other new rooms in the once servant area are The Governess’ Room, The Butler’s Room, the Cooks and The Footman’s Room. All have en-suite bathrooms (except for the Governess and Footman Rooms which share an adjacent bathroom). The baths looked absolutely stunning and the showers were absolutely amazing (disclaimer I only actually used one in the Bachelor room). Some brighter and braver colours and fabrics have been weaved in with heirloom furnishings and artwork from the Guise ancestors. More British fabrics and furnishings have been used here including brands such as Lewis and Wood, Pooky Lighting, Barneby Gates, Timorous Beasties, William Holland, Stonearth and Shibumi cashmere and silk bedspreads (Shibumi is run by Anselm’s sister Ruth Guise). These rooms are all perfect for guests to get changed in – and if you’re a woman looking for wedding attire inspiration try these beautiful exclusive silk women’s dresses.
