Just a short walk away from Birmingham New Street, and located not far from the National SEA LIFE CENTRE Birmingham, the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Birmingham is easily accessible and completely indoor based – so perfect for LEGO fun no matter how the weather is behaving. LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Birmingham has six fun-filled zones designed for three to twelve year olds. Note to keep the venue safe for children no adults will be admitted without being accompanied by an under seventeen.birmingham library made of lego

Being born and raised in Birmingham myself the thing that sets LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre from other LEGO Centres has got to be the amazing MINILAND: An amazing mini version of Birmingham and its surrounding areas made out of five million LEGO bricks. With interactive features, music and light effects spot iconic features that make Birmingham what it is. This includes the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Birmingham itself, the new Birmingham library, the Bull Ring, the Rotunda, the Mailbox, New Street Station, The NEC, Cadbury World, Birmingham University and not forgetting that football match with Blues (Birmingham City) against the Villa (where you can even play a game against each other). Other fantastic touches are the new Bear Grylls building – including the outdoor climbing area and Warwick Castle.lego friends buildings at LEGOLAND®Discovery Centre Birmingham

Comparable to LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Manchester, Birmingham is smaller and more cosier. With most of the attractions being in one place, parents can be safe in the knowledge that their children can explore in sight from the café (which serves hot and cold drinks and snacks). This includes a soft play area (with a height restriction), a Build and Test area (to build and test a functional LEGO car before testing its design on the race track), LEGO DUPLO farm; LEGO FRIENDS area (including pre-built models); LEGO pools (to just sit in and get creative with LEGO); a 4D cinema (showing exclusively LEGO movies); and two LEGO rides (Hop on the Kingdom Quest laser ride and LEGO Merlin’s Apprentice – a magic bicycle ride). You can also master the skill of building awesome creations out of LEGO with the help of a Master Model Builder in one of the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre daily workshops.

Plus you can access the LEGO Store, the only one in the Midlands even without visiting the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Birmingham attraction and utilise your Merlin discount on LEGO merchandise.

  1. Brilliant, it looks so good! I didn’t know that children could explore on their own while you wait in the cafe, that makes it even more appealing! Love the video, the library is easy to spot even in miniland, such an unusual landmark!
