Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf Cheltenham Game and Dinner Review

In the heart of Cheltenham located in the Brewery Quarter you can find Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf. Mini Golf is a great leisure activity suitable for a variety of ages and so is perfect for families, couples, or groups (birthdays, corporate events – with a Corporate Function/Party room available).mr mulligans sign

Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf has two Indoor Adventure Golf courses to choose from Neptune’s Mist and Canopy Creek: with underwater and dinosaur themes. As you would expect all clubs, coloured balls, score cards and pencils are provided. The clubs come in different sizes for the children and you are able to select which coloured ball you wish to play with (cue the first argument because the children want to have different coloured balls but all want the same colour!!).

Each of the Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf courses have eighteen holes with slightly different challenges surrounded by theming. We played on Canopy Creek and this was a great course for the children because it was fairly basic and so not too challenging for them. three boys playing mini golf The golf course is well-themed and has an ultra-violet section; other than this it is quite dark with over-head lighting and music playing – this was all a bit too much for our son with sensory processing disorder. There is a platform with a pulley system to get from one part of the Canopy Creek course to the other, making it fun for children and adults alike. It is mostly about getting the ball around corners, around objects and over surfaces with differing heights. There’s no complicated windmills or getting the ball to jump over bars. We had previously played on Neptune’s Mist and I do feel that that course has a slightly higher skill level. But again not too taxing so great for the younger ones. One of the courses is DDA compliant too – making it an inclusive venue.

Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf has a late night bar which is easily accessible before and after the game. Our boys opted for a slushy to take around and parents will be pleased to know that these aren’t too big, so they aren’t having too much sugar! At each hole there is a barrel to use like a table to put drinks on – and they were given plastic cups so no need to worry about breakages. However, there aren’t any bins to place them in once finished with. Wednesday nights are student nights at Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf, which also has a daily adults only policy after 20:45, where just two games of golf are £5 with BOGOF on drinks, double up for £1 and free sharers (after 7pm). There’s also a live band or DJ, toilets and baby changing, and photo booth.three slushies on barrel

After the game you may wish to opt to have something to eat – and there’s even a themed safari truck table (although this only comfortably fits for four people if you want to eat). You simply take a seat, explore the menu and order at the bar. It has then made (where you can see) and brought over to you. There’s a variety of drinks and we opted for a pint of lemonade each £2.95, interestingly there was no price difference for Coke, which we have seen in some other places). Meal options include burgers, sharing plates (chicken wings/nachos), pizza, wraps, salads, and sides: with the most expensive main being just £9.50. Children’s meal options (chicken goujons, fish goujons or Kids margherita pizza) are just £4.95 and included a glass of orange, apple or cranberry juice. Look out for the special offers like the children eat free with an adults meal – which was on over half term.

Given the fairly limited menu there was a good selection of vegetarian options, and a couple of vegan too. Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf is great for cheese lovers and I really enjoyed my Halloumi and Grilled Veg Wrap with skinny fries and side of onion rings, and the boys their cheese and bacon fries. However, they felt that there was far too much cheese on the nachos and struggled to eat them. The pizzas were a fantastic size, in fact so much so that our boys who usually have such a hearty appetite struggled. The staff at Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf kindly supplied us with some foil so that we were able to take the leftovers away with us. Also for sale are hot drinks and ice-creams.vegetarian wrap and nachos at mr mulligans

Did you know that a mulligan is a second chance to perform an action, usually after the first chance went wrong through bad luck or a blunder. Its best-known meaning is in golf, whereby a player is informally allowed to replay a stroke, even though this is against the formal rules of golf.

Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf is in The Brewery Quarter, a superb venue just a stone’s throw away from the town centre and is open 11am-10pm Monday-Thursday; Friday 11am-Midnight; Saturday 10am-Midnight and Sundays 10am-9pm – with a 10am opening during school holidays. Gift vouchers are available.

We were invited to Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Golf for a free game of golf and dinner. We had to purchase our own drinks and no other financial compensation was given. All opinions are honest and my own.
