Otherwise the lake is open almost all the time, with no need to book. You can plan your visit by looking at the calendar, and check for tide times before you come.

Note it is asked that you do not bring a dog.

Clevedon Marine Lake Itself

The salty water is shallow around the edges and deep by the sea wall. There are no tides or currents in the lake itself, but the water is cold. However, at 12.8m hide tide will overtop the outer sea wall and flood the lake.

The lake hosts schools, clubs, sporting fixtures, corporate events, and numerous individual and family activities. Clevedon Marine Lake is open to swimmers, including with inflatables, paddle-boarders, canoeists and kayakers. Other opportunities include sailing, boat hire, model boating, crabbing, zorbing, yoga and more.

For Children

Plus there’s also a children’s water play area and an island to jump off for extra fun! As well as a nearby play park and big grassy area, bike park, mini golf and small arcade.

Swim at your own Risk

As there are no lifeguards, at Clevedon Marine Lake, it gives a great free bridge between wanting to swim wild whilst having some protection. You are swimming at your own risk but without the pulls of currents or rips from the rivers and sea. Also there is a great swimming community and everyone is encouraged to watch out for one another.

Costs Visiting Clevedon Marine Lake

Charity Donations

It is free to enter although as it is charity run then donations are welcomed. There are donation boxes around (with a suggested £1 contribution). Alternatively you can donate online by using Everyclick, or by becoming a member of the Lake; or by playing their lottery.

Food and Drink

There is also a chip shop catering van there. Sorry I did not get prices but they were in line with the average fish and chip shop.

But also you can get drinks there (which I did get the prices for):

Tea £1.50, coffee £2.50, hot chocolate £2.50, water £1.20 and cans from £1.20.

Toilets are 20p.
