What better way to treat your man this Valentine’s than with a Steak Dinner with home-made mushroom sauce, followed by heart cakes.
I like to cook the mushrooms and tomatoes at the same time, and add some salad (and jacket potatoes).
Fry the mushrooms in butter, then simply add milk and herbs.
Onions rings are a tasty treat to go with it too.
The cake mix
8oz of self-raising flour,
8oz butter
5oz castor sugar
5 eggs
Red colouring
Vanilla essence
Mix all together and spoon into heart shaped metal cutters.
Cook in the oven for approx 20 mins on 180 degrees. Take out and allow to cool on a rack.
You can decorate however you like – what not icing sugar and strawberry laces to write a message.
