How Students Can Get Free Katsu
Students can get free Katsu by being one of the first 50 to visit a Wagamama UK branch on September 27th. They must have valid student ID and the Wagamama Loyalty Soul Club App.
About Wagamama Soul Club App
The Soul Club App is the Wagamama loyalty app. Initially when you download the app there’s a voucher for free food (edamame or prawn crackers). Then every visit when you spend £12 you receive a stamp. Of course these then lead on to more promotional material. Namely free food but there’s more incentives too!
How to Use the Wagamama Loyalty App
Basically you still order through a server but you can pay on the app at the end. Then you redeem vouchers (only one per transaction). You can also get discounts added by the management and then still pay through the app.
Plus if you pay through the app you’ll later receive an e-mail asking for your feedback of the experience.
Student Discounts at Wagamama
Plus Students discounts at Wagamama are 20% off food and drink* Sunday to Thursday (terms and conditions apply). To get this offer you will need a Student Beans account. Simply show your server your Student Beans ID and they will get it applied.
Varieties of Katsu
- Wagamama sell around 43,000 katsu curries in a week.
- There are 6 versions of the (main) Katsu dish at Wagamama UK.
- The most common is dish number 71 – Chicken Katsu. You can then make this hot for just 50p.
- Then there are a couple of vegan options.
- There is the yasai (which is Japanese for vegetables) and again you can have this with regular sauce or hot sauce.
- Alternatively there is the vegatsu – this is a tofu+ soya protein. It tastes remarkably like chicken! Once more you can have this with the Katsu curry sauce or the hot sauce.
- Additionally there are the mini versions too!
Did you know that your server can customise your food? Popular things to do are to have the sauce on the side, or to have the salad removed. This is in addition to having the hot sauce. Also you can buy extra sauce. Some couples like to order one with hot sauce and one with the regular sauce – but then have them in side bowls so that they can both try the sauces!
Students to Win Free Katsu for a Year
To win free Katsu for a year then you need to be a student that enters the Wagamama competition.
You do need to be a university student. Simply find the video by TikTok creator Miss GK Barry on the Wagamama’s TikTok channel and stitch it. Share your craziest Fresher’s story and use the hashtag #KatsuConfessions.
Although, let’s be honest, they’ll probably want this for marketing reasons so keep it somewhat clean!
