We stayed at Home Hotel Uppsala Sweden. Opted for the fact that it included both breakfast and dinner. However, we were also delighted to discover that fika was also part of the deal. This was ideal for doing Uppsala parkrun.

There are the things you would come to expect at home in the rooms, such as toilet roll, soap, body lotion, shampoo, body wash, towels, hot drinks, ironing board and iron. Additionally a notepad and pen was provided.
Getting to Home Hotel Uppsala
Home Hotel Uppsala was easy to access and find from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. We used public transport and the UL app. It is in English and all very straightforward. You can go by bus or train – but obviously the former is cheaper.
Note there is an additional charge when the transport you are on stops at the airport.
Other Things to Know
Breakfast was at times that were no good to us as we were off to partake in Uppsala parkrun. Thankfully, however, the Home Hotel Uppsala were happy to make some breakfast goodie bags up for us which we collected at 8:30am.
Check out is 11am, which we had time to go back and have a shower first. Additionally you can pay and extend your stay. Plus there’s early check in, but again 3pm was fine for us.
My Thoughts on Home Hotel Uppsala
Definitely recommend a stay at Home Hotel Uppsala. Especially if visiting for Uppsala parkrun as it really was easy to access from there.
The Price
Thought we were getting a budget stay but actually it felt very luxurious. Plus the added benefit of not having to worry about food. Also I think I paid extra because of Kulturnatten – but it was still such really good value.
We had a twin room but the beds were already pushed together. To be honest some hotels have previously charged us for a bigger room and done just that anyway!
Service
People working there were lovely and friendly. Very attentive too. As was with the rest of Sweden everyone spoke English perfectly so this was not a concern for us.
Negatives
The only things that were not perfect is that we couldn’t understand the lift. It just didn’t seem to move some of the time no matter what we did. Although we had the ninth floor (top) each level was so short that it was no problem for us to just use the stairs.
Plus the shower screen was a bit different to what we were used to and had to be careful not to get the water everywhere!
Conclusion Home Hotel Uppsala
If you are staying in Uppsala then I would definitely suggest you stay in Home Hotel Uppsala. It is easy to get to and a perfect base for exploring Uppsala and beyond. Would absolutely stay again if we were to return the area.
