Christmas time at ThomasLand

Those of you who have been following my blog for a while will know that my 3rd son (who is 5) has been best mates with a lad since they were around 2 years old. Recently his friend has moved away (last October) and so they no longer see each other. His friend turned 5 the end of December so it was arranged that they could meet up and do something special. Last year they went on a Santa Steam Train experience, so this time we headed for Thomasland at Drayton Manor. We also took our youngest son, and the best friend’s brother (who is the same age as our youngest).

They were really pleased to see each other.

They loved the fact that they were old enough to go on rides on their own. Especially as they were measured to see if they were “bigger than the red line”

My friend had visited the previous week and was saying about how long the queue was for Father Christmas so we got our time ticket straight away. We ended up waiting just under an hour but it didn’t seem like 5 minutes because the boys were so excited.

This owl was apparently watching us and sending messages back to Father Christmas to tell him how well we were behaving.

And there was lots of Christmassy things around as we waited.

There was a nice man talked to the children just before they went into see Father Christmas – further adding to the excitement.

And we had the opportunity to buy (and we did) baubles of the kids photos with him.

The place wasn’t too busy at all (and they were fully booked) that even going to get food wasn’t too stressful. (I HATE crowds).

The tree was really pretty when it got dark.

And they did a really good job of decorating the station. Plus there was artificial snow.

The zoo had lights around it.

Dinosaur Trail was open

And it ended with fireworks.

There was absolutely loads more including the Polar Express in 4d. I’d really recommend it.
