The Sun £9.50 Holidays in Europe

As I said last year, January is a great time to plan and book your Sun £9.50 holiday. The Sun £9.50 Holidays are fantastic value for travelling to Europe (see our Sun £9.50 holiday to Holland) and there’s even deals on ferries. This year I am thinking of going to Germany for a few reasons – one of which is that I have an 11-year-old who is being really scholarly about learning the language. In fact I have never heard him be so passionate about a subject. But I also discovered that we can get 50% off the entry to attractions with our annual Merlin Passes which includes LEGOLAND® Deutschland and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Berlin and Duisburg! As well as Heide-Park Resort, Madame Tussauds Berlin, and the SElA LIFE Centres in Berlin, Hannover, Königswinter, Konstanz, München, Oberhausen, Speyer and Timmendorfer Strand. With that in mind I set out to find out whether there was accommodation near to the attractions through The Sun £9.50 Holidays.

The Sun £9.50 Holidays in Germany

There are two parks in Germany as part of the £9.50 deal – Südseecamp, Wietzendorf and Campingplatz Herbolzheim. Plus on the 17th& 20th April and 16th and 19th October they are both available for the £9.50 per person price. In this instance it is worth checking the opening times of attractions you may want to visit. Not only do you want to consider your school holidays but also the schools in Germany.

Reviews Campingplatz Herbolzheim suggest that it is a lovely peaceful Eurocamp site but it has no on site pool. It is South-West of Germany and near to France and Switzerland. The nearest famous place I know of on the map is Munich. There’s a good public pool a short walk away which sounds like it suits younger family members. That the owner is German (no surprise as it’s in Germany mind) and that the ability to speak German is very much appreciated.

Südseecamp is in Wietzendorf, which is on the north of Germany heading up towards Hamburg and much closer to Berlin. It has an indoor pool and according to reviews more English-speaking staff. This is obviously the better location for us to visit the Merlin attractions.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone has any further information or alternatively knows of any other good places to stay.
