Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Lewis Carroll Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass – 150th Anniversary Edition

Lewis Carroll’s timeless classics Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass have been brought together for this beautiful 150th Anniversary edition. Written to entertain the daughter of a Dean, Alice Liddell, young Alice is the star of the story encountering the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and many many more unforgettable characters – who make this story truly incredible. A mix of literary genius, linguistic inventiveness, puzzles, jokes, broken up by gorgeous illustrations by Lewis Carroll himself. Popular with the old and young a like for its nonsense approach.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is ingeniously written and was really good for showing my bookworm some more complex grammar (such as the one paragraph that was actually only one sentence). It is quite different reading the book to watching the films – an experience that I feel everyone should have. You cannot feel the change in the writing when it is not in a book, or appreciate when the words curve down the page. It is recommended for those ages 8+ and any younger I do not think they will fully appreciate the complexity of such a remarkable work of art. If you are not familiar with the story you can read the synopsis.
