Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Watch at Home #Review

Following on from “Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse” comes Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse! Our youngest went to the cinema to see it with his dad, Nan and Granddad, but the rest of us hadn’t seen it so were pleased to hear that it is now available to buy & rent on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, BLU-RAY™ and DVD. Sony Pictures eCinema, courtesy of Columbia Pictures, sent me a 7 day link so I could watch it for myself and let you know what I think.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

About Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, Miles Morales, returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga! Reunited with Gwen Stacy he is catapulted across the Multiverse. There he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spider-People, and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Thoughts

You are going to want to have watched Spider-Man into the Spider Verse first. Next you are going to want to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse more than once so it is a good idea to buy a copy for at home. Especially as it ends with a “to be continued!”

Thanks to be bitten by spider 42 from Kingpin’s lab Miles results in becoming a Spider-Man. This means he is able to turn himself invisible, has venom strikes – an electrical force he can shoot through his hands. All useful stuff for this film! But it turns out that he is anomaly and should never have been bitten.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is a visual delight: With 6 different animation styles! They really give a great feeling of what bringing a comic book to life feels like. Combining hand-drawn imagery, with real people, LEGO, computer-generated, 2D and 3D animations.

4K UHD, Blu-ray™ & DVD Bonus Materials include:

  • Creating The Ultimate Spider-Man Movie
  • Raising a Hero
  • Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Cast

Run Time: approx. 139 minutes
Rating: PG
