My son’s birthday wish was to go out as a family. He initially said that he wanted to go back to Legoland, but then we all got talking about trying somewhere new. You see the thing is we were going to go last weekend, but well I don’t really like paying too much to go anywhere – not when you do not have to. So I managed to convince everyone that we would go later in the year. There really isn’t much reason to pay full price with so many vouchers on food, Tesco clubcard points and websites with deals. So I was interested to come across a website I had not heard of before – Kids Pass.
What is Kids Pass?
Kids Pass offers savings on family attractions all over the UK. It is FREE and easy to join and you get loads of great offers that will save you up to 50% off on family days out, including Drayton Manor, Flamingoland, Paultons Park, Go Ape. New attractions are being added all the time and they are working on an app! You can search attractions by type and/or location. I was really pleased to see 3 attractions in my area. There’s also a list of the best free parks and museums too! Such as Regent’s Park. These have lots of information about them, including suitability for ages, disabilities etc.
I liked the cartoon characters of the Kids Pass Team with a description of the roles they all play. It made me feel like they really care about how satisfied I am with their service, like if I did run into difficulties they’d do all they can to sort it. There’s nothing worse than promising the kids you will go somewhere and when you get there there’s problems getting in, now is there?! All the contact details (including telephone, address, and social media channels) are clearly displayed on the website too – again making me feel like they want to help. I love how when I sign in it says welcome and my name.
You have to sign up to access the offers but this just involves giving your name, house number and postcode, e-mail address, mobile number is optional, it asks how many children you have (there’s a maximum of 10), and then you just agree to their terms. Please note that the terms state that you have to pay at the end of the free subscription. They say that you will receive a reminder by e-mail or post. That they are not held responsible for any non-receipt of communication from them. You can cancel your free membership at any time by telephoning or post. Membership costs will be displayed on the website and will vary from time-to-time. On speaking to them they say that they have no intention of charging, and so it will be a renewal for free. Once you have registered then an e-mail is sent out with a username and password. Some attractions require a pre-booking. You need to check what the terms of the voucher are – such as only one voucher being able to be used, and not in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. I was disappointed to discover that the chance to win a Merlin annual pass had finished – but as this is free I hadn’t lost anything. Some vouchers require you to click a link and add a code. Others require printing out – please remember to check the validity dates.
