The Eight Week of Jeffing Half Marathon Training

This post is about the eight week of Jeffing Half Marathon Training. I had devised a Jeffing Half Marathon Plan for myself and my teen. For me the aim was to get sub 2 hours, and the teen was to complete his first one. The part where I couldn’t run.

The Eight Week

Following on from week 7 – after the rest days, Tuesday was my next sports massage. It felt a lot better afterwards but not completely. Amy advised me to try magnesium, either tablets or spray. She also told me to not run for 2 weeks and to roll my side on a ball.

How the teen was getting on

Again I couldn’t convince teen to do anything whilst I wasn’t. To be fair he was also exhausted after his Gold DofE Expedition. He was doing some walking though so still keeping a bit active. Then on Thursday his group were Stand-Up Paddle Boarding and Canoeing.

River Swim

Myself and our younger teen went along too and just swam. We were in for an hour! This was probably the nail in the coffin for my Garmin as it just powered off later that evening. Nothing was going to save it. It served me well though – at over four years old. My husband then gave me his Garmin, which is a tri-watch.

NHS Health Check

My NHS Health Check was also that day. Although it was probably a waste of time as I never had the blood test.

Busy times

The rest of the time was just spent either walking, sleep meditation or cleaning. There was a lot to sort with the eldest as he had to move out of his student accommodation.

On the Sunday the teen went off on his first holiday with friends. Again there’s bound to be a lot of walking involved at least.
