This is what parkrun 2025 looked like for my family. Including a quick summary of some of our achievements this last year.
Joy’s parkrun 2025
Personally for my parkrun 2025 I took 101 seconds off my PB! My age grading went up from 58.41% to 62.23%. These I can thank my third born for helping me with. In fact the PB was actually on a hilly course where he told me to slow down as I had started too fast, and walked loads! This year I got my Platinum Obsessive – completing a total of 55 parkruns in a year.

As the weather got warmer my times slowed down. However, apart from being ill, volunteering, or running in a shark costume, my times were all under 30 minutes apart from a handful of times.
Husband’s Year
My husband was only 1 second away from his PB this year. This did mean that his age grading increased 0.14%. He ran at 50 events (including as a shark) and volunteered at one (giving up his run). He also joined me at a few parkrun juniors to volunteer.

The Original Speedster – parkrun 2025
Our second born completed 12 parkruns this year. He had a great parkrun 2025, taking 81 seconds off his PB. However, his age grading was not beaten. He was really pleased to beat his PB which he had since 2017! These were also whilst he was away at university, and we were only there one of his new records.
Current Fastest Family Member
Our third born is currently the fastest of us all and so went into the year with an incredible time of 19 minutes and 32s. Not surprisingly this year he did not improve on his age grading that came with that time – which was 70.14%.

However, he did beat his time getting down to 19m 24s. He had to go to work and so had gone to a separate, local, parkrun without us – so was thrilled to let me know. Now working Saturday mornings he completed 24 parkruns this year. A lot of those he has helped support me – including when I got my (uphill course) PB.

Youngest parkrun 2025
Our youngest had no change this year statistically for best. Although he also had a fantastic parkrun 2025 year. He struggles with new courses and people and has done really well. Finishing well ahead of myself and his dad most weeks. Personally I think his brothers not being there most weeks hasn’t helped as there’s no push to finish even quicker. He completed 33 parkruns in 2025.
He also volunteered at both parkrun and parkrun junior too.
