We headed to Upton Court parkrun in Slough. We had to get up early but it was due to wanting to go to a parkrun starting with the letter U to complete my second parkrun alphabet.

Course at at Upton Court parkrun
The course is two laps technically. But one is longer than the other; with the first taking in an extra field.
Starts and ends on grass. Tarmac paths also on the course.
There is a bridge to cross, but it’s got bars on the side, not wobbly, and quite wide.

Dog friendly course.
My Experience
The first timers briefing was really good. Different to any I have heard before with lots of fantastic information about the views and local area.
It was possible to Jeff this course without problem. We had brought my friend and son along and so was originally going to go around with them but they decided that they wanted to straight run it. This also meant that I had not brought my headphones with me unfortunately, and it was a last minute change of ratio.

Plenty of people on the course to follow and not get lost. It felt like a long time to get from the start to the first marshal.
My Finish
Somehow I managed some sort of sprint finish, with my lovely husband there waiting to take photographs. In fact my friend and her son weren’t even that far behind.
Parkrun Stuff
Unfortunately, I came in second in my age grade, immediately behind first. However, my time of 29:31 for Jeffing and with my knee hurting I didn’t think was bad.

This was the lovely Sarah who introduced herself at the start. We had both had a go at guessing how many people would attend. My random guess actually got her to increase her educated one. Sadly she’d have been better sticking at her original!

Congratulations on completing your second alphabet!
I’m in awe that the first finisher was in the 55-59 category! That time and age grading are incredible.
