What an absolute privilege to be able to attend Zuiderpark Rotterdam parkrun Test Run. This was like a parkrun but without the credits. We all went thinking it would not be timed but Andy Airey managed to sort it that it was. Utilising the token generator on the Parkrace app – which worked really well. We joked that actually we all had an event zero for our Fibonacci.

Facilities at Zuiderpark Rotterdam parkrun
- There is parking near the start/finish to Zuiderpark Rotterdam parkrun. It was free when we went due to the date. I am unsure of the cost otherwise.
- There is a café just near to this carpark. Take cash and/or a variety of payment methods as some of the cards did not work.
- There is a toilet near the start/finish area.
- A water fountain is available on the course. Nice welcome relief when going round! Most likely there is more than that one.

The Zuiderpark Rotterdam parkrun Course for the Test Run
Obviously there’s some factors of the Zuiderpark Rotterdam parkrun that will definitely remain the same. However, as this is a test run I cannot guarantee that some things may change. Although it all did seem to work really well so I feel it’s unlikely.
The start/finish area are near the revolving toilet. We currently just popped our things down it was a really hot day. Don’t seem to recall if there was anywhere to put bags if it was wet though. Some events get a pop up tent. Am not sure on this situation for this event though sorry.

Dogs are not allowed on part of the course.
Look and Feel
The course was beautiful and a little varied. With some lovely shaded bits of course, a great looking play area to pass, and some interesting statues. Latter of which I am sure we shall see some interesting selfies with!
Other parts of the course were very open and I could really feel the heat there.

Guide
It was really well marked out for us. Unusually for a parkrun abroad there were marshals actually out on the course. This was really nice, as not only do they help with direction, reassurance and any problems – but they were also very encouraging.
Elevation and Footwear
First of all it is two flat laps. These are all on path – so a good one for if you are travelling and short on space as you can just take one pair of trainers.
Also the finishing straight is a nice long run up, perfect for those who wish to sprint finish. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts I lost this “race.”

Are you Able to Jeff at Zuiderpark Rotterdam parkrun?
Mostly a lot of wide paths. I was able to Jeff (a run/walk technique) however it was a bit tricky to do this immediately as the very start felt a bit too narrow. This was for only a very short space of time and I was able to walk after 90 seconds.
