When my brother agreed to have all 4 our of children so that we could have a night away we had to then decide on the location. I originally looked at Italy but tbh it was a bit much price wise for just a night. So then I started looking at Groupon (which has nothing to do with this blog).
After visiting Paris my husband was keen to see London together and so this deal was just perfect.
For only £99 for the pair of us we got:
1 night stay in the Executive room
1 spa treatment each (or golf which we didn’t pick)
Bottle of fizzy
Breakfast
Full use of the facilities – swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, (should be steam room but there was a technical fault).
The staff were very friendly and this was delivered literally as we reached our room.
The hotel was very romantic with lots of detail
Plenty of beautiful scenery
They do do weddings and I can really see why someone would decide to get married here.
Of course there were a few issues (they ran out of towels but luckily I’d packed my own) but really these things just can’t be helped.
They really did try and think of everything with robes, slippers, wet bags, shampoo etc provided.
Getting to London was really easy with the hotel providing a shuttle bus to and from the hotel to the nearest train station (3.5 miles away). There were also plenty of buses running (including a night service) after the shuttle stopped running.
Addington Rd, South Croydon, Croydon, CR2 8YA
Looks beautiful, really wouldn’t expect this of Croydon!
Personally, I’d be really mad if they ran out of towels and the steam room wasnt working, I’d be wanting a discount!
Glad you had a lovely time though
To be fair though these other women came for the day and they paid £40 just for their treatments and that was each so think we got a really good deal. My husband has left behind a rather expensive shirt though and they said someone would ring me back about sending it on but heard nothing – so lol may have to bring it up.
I went to 6th form just down the road (I’m originally from Croydon). That part of Croydon isn’t very Croydon-y. When I first met my husband (in Bristol) there was a Selsdon Park Hotel coat hanger in his office, but he’s never been there, he just inherited it with his office.
