Halloween is one of the few times my children are given sweets. It’s not that I stop them from having them at other times it’s just that I do not really buy them. I love nothing better when the days get shorter and the nights are so dark than to craft with the children. For me Halloween is the start of the build up until Christmas.
Halloween sweet cones are perfect for Halloween parties, just fun for or even to use as a Trick or Treat bag. Over at Party Delights they have 4 FREE printable Halloween designs to add to your cones (check out the blog post to download them).
They are really simple to make and great for fine motor development, hand-eye co-ordination, following instructions and patience (the boys did really well not to eat the sweets straight away!)
It was really simple – the boys simply glued the print out onto some card, cut it out, glue it, fold over the “glue area,” glue that area, and hold in place as a cone until it dries. We decided to staple it together to make sure it definitely held all our sweets okay.
Make a handle by attaching some ribbon (you can use string or wool if you have no ribbon). It suggests glue but again we used staples.
fill with sweets. Party Delights have a great range of Halloween Sweets perfect for Cones, Party Bags, Candy Buffets, and you could even hand a cone out to children who knock on your door this Halloween.
It was really simple and the boys needed minimal help (there’s a tricky bit to cut at the bottom of the cone). I love how it appealed to a variety of ages (my boys are ages 5, 7, 11 and 17) – yes even the Teen got involved. That’s the beauty of sweets I guess!
What do you have planned for Halloween? Do you go Trick or Treating? Have a party?
I received all I needed to make Halloween Cones from Party Delights. All words and opinions are my own.
Perfect timing, the kids are obsessed with Halloween and I’ve been looking for crafts to get them doing. Thanks 🙂
Great tick or treat cones. We only go to other peoples’ houses that we have arranged to go to beforehand. I don’t buy sweets and the Halloween ones will last until Christmas!
What a super idea to make these cones for Halloween. This will keep my kids occupied and ready for Halloween.
The cones are super. We aren’t trick or treating this year because Scouts and Brownies are both having Halloween events for the children which look like they are going to be a lot of fun.
These looks great and not too tricky to do x
They look like great fun! I love halloween!
Oh they are such a nice idea – they seem really simple to make as well – almost a party activity if you are throwing a Halloween party 🙂 x
Such a lovely idea and far cheaper than buying a loot bag this Halloween! x

What a wonderful idea! We don’t celebrate Halloween. It’s not a festivity either in Finland or in Ecuador.
