When asked by Velvet what would be my ideal night in it was a tough choice between an evening alone with my husband and an evening sharing laughter and fun together as a whole family. But as the nights close in earlier and the temperature drops I think that I would choose a night with us all huddled up watching a film, spending quality time together, with a big fleece throw to keep us warm.
We would start by setting up a treats table with some chocolate and nibbles. Then we would have big mugs of hot chocolate – piled with marshmallows, chocolate chunks, topped with squirty cream and more flakes of chocolate. I think some scented candles would be the ideal lighting for these cold nights and keep our senses alive.
Ideally we could do with settling down to watch a film on a new television. Ours is playing up and my husband has his eye on an Ultra High Def 4K either a Samsung or a Sony. He wants one that is going to give him a great experience so is willing to spend the money, but is unsure whether a curved television would be best for our layout. He is willing to go smaller than our 50″ but isn’t sure of how that would impact on the experience. He is also aware that I am not willing to spend five grand on a television so is trying to get the balance right,
The quality of the picture is really important to him, whereas I am more interested in the sound. For the perfect night in I would like a good surround sound with the volume turned up. I am not really sure what happened to ours, but needless to say after spending £500 on them, my husband spending ages channeling the wires into the walls, it ended up in landfill!
Then we could watch something we have never seen, one of our old favourites, or even a whole box set. I think it is most likely to be all the Harry Potters, as since our visit to the Harry Potter Studio and Gloucester Cathedral the boys have become very enthusiastic about anything related. We may even make it a Harry Potter themed party – and call it dinner too.
