When the rain first came we were excited to be able to go out and play in the puddles.
But when the rain didn’t stop people became nervous.
The rain of 2007 is still very fresh in the memories of people in our town as lives were lost during that flood, and people are only just starting to get things back to how they were. Some people lost things that just couldn’t be replaced – and as the rain kept on pouring it was feared the same would happen again.
Luckily for us it hasn’t, touch wood, been as bad as last time – when we ended up without water to drink, wash and flush with. But nevertheless it did rain pretty badly.
We went out to investigate a few days later after things had calmed down.
This is a road which currently looks more like a river
Cars just about getting through.
Fields where people walk their dogs and where we collected leaves from
Scary! Luckily we haven’t had to deal with anything like this where we live, and I sincerely hope it stays that way.
That is a lot of rain! Hope it goes away for you soon!
goodness i hope its subsided a bit now. torrential rain can bring such awful moments for people, but as you say small downpours do make great puddles x
Rain and floods was our week too. It really did feel like it just went on and on, thank fully we escaped any disasters too, lets hope that’s it for this year!
Scary isn’t it? Pictures like this make me glad I live in quite a high place with no rivers to speak of: Birmingham.
The rain is good but not to much. Have a beautiful week
Flooding is dangerous… my dad’s last brother drown in a flooded roadway about six years ago, that was so sad. Hopefully things will dry out soon.
So sorry to hear that x
