Rain Rain Go Away

When the rain first came we were excited to be able to go out and play in the puddles.

But when the rain didn’t stop people became nervous.

The rain of 2007 is still very fresh in the memories of people in our town as lives were lost during that flood, and people are only just starting to get things back to how they were. Some people lost things that just couldn’t be replaced – and as the rain kept on pouring it was feared the same would happen again.

Luckily for us it hasn’t, touch wood, been as bad as last time – when we ended up without water to drink, wash and flush with. ButĀ neverthelessĀ it did rain pretty badly.

We went out to investigate a few days later after things had calmed down.

This is a road which currently looks more like a river
