Mop Fair

My boys were lucky this year that we took them to both evenings (tonight and last night) of the annual Mop Fair.

mop fairThe swimming pool carpark and a few roads are shut off and filled with fairground rides, traditional games, sideshows, stalls, attractions – including bright colour merchandise, candy floss and not forgetting the fish!

The first night we were aware it was getting late (and they still had school the next day) as they had not got to go on the Haunted House we promised them we would go back the next evening. Then their dad promised them candy floss – as they had never tried it. I am really proud of how they managed in school today with such a late night last night. They saw a lot of their friends and it really put a smile on their faces. Tonight I took my camera to play with so here are some of the pics.

  1. I do love a good fair and my children go wild, sadly there aren’t many around us which explains their excitement. So hard to catch the fun on film but you have some lovely photos here of your family having a wild time. Thank your for sharing with me on Country Kids.

  2. Great pics. I always struggle with funfair photos. Looks like you all had a good time.

I’m looking forward to the fair coming down to us. Must be next couple of weeks, but I never remember which town’s we follow!

  3. You’ve got some great photos there, tricky to get night time fun fair photos 🙂 What a treat for them, and to go two evenings, fabulous! Seeing their friends there too must have been great fun, I love it when the boys have such an amazing time somewhere, makes any effort so incredibly worthwhile x

  4. There’s so great pics there Joy! My two have yet to experience a nightime fair. They’ve only been to a kiddies one at the seaside during the day! I think they’d be steering clear of the ghost house though! 😉 #countrykids

  5. Great photos and looks like you all had a wonderful time. There is a fair each October in the town where I grew up and it was quite a big event when I was a teenager – part of me still misses it and I get a little envious when I hear my sister telling me about taking her kids there. Maybe one day I will go there again. Love the atmosphere of a fun fair, especially in the evening when it gets dark! 🙂

  8. Looks like you had a great time at the fair. I’m pretty sure our fair is due sometime very soon, I love to see the delight on the Beans’ faces as they whizz around on the rides.
