There is nothing like a good breakfast to start the day. I have previously written about healthy breakfast options you can eat as an alternative to high-sugary cereals. Ready Brek is a really versatile breakfast to have in the house and gives a great nutritional start to the day, with long lasting energy.
Available in Original, Chocolate, Honey or Seriously Oatey. Ready Brek can be eaten on its own or paired with all manner of ingredients to suit everybody’s individual palates – making it the only breakfast you will really need!
Ready Brek Breakfast Ideas
Plain Ready Brek: Of course for those who do not like things too complicated you can just add milk and cook. Ready Brek can be either in the microwave or on the hob. You can add water or milk (including non-cow’s milk types such as coconut, almond, soya etc). However, it is not suitable for milk allergy sufferers.
Fruit Ready Brek: Just add fruit – this can be a singular fruit or experiment with mixed combinations. You could even make a face with it! Top ideas are using bananas, raisins, chopped up apple, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries – the list is endless. You could even utilize frozen fruit as the Ready Brek will defrost it. The great thing is you can add what is in season too.
Extra flavoring to Ready Brek: Then you can maple syrup, honey, cinnamon, nuts, peanut butter, jam, seeds and so on. I wonder how well lemon curd works with Ready Brek – do you think it would go well?
Breakfast Snacks on the Go
Ready Brek Protein Packed Bites: Perfect for packed lunches – simply blitz 100g pumpkin seeds and 100g pitted dates in a food processor. Next add 50g grated carrot, 2 grated eating apples and 125g Ready Brek. Add a little hot water. Roll into balls and place on a lined baking tray. Place in the fridge for 1 hour.
Ready Brek Breakfast Muffins: These are great healthy go-to-snack for any time of day. They are also great to use up any over-ripe bananas, to avoid food waste. They also need no flour, sugar or oil to cook. Simply toast 2 ½ cups of Ready Brek on a baking tray for around 5 minutes. I did it at 200 degrees on my electric fan oven.
In another bowl mash 2 ripe bananas, and another bowl beat 2 large eggs. Let the oats cool and then combine with the banana. Next mix in the egg, with some honey, ¾ cup of milk, some vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix together and then place in muffin cases in the oven until cooked. You can also mix in other ingredients such as apple or raisins (I added mixed nuts) and sprinkle oats/nuts etc on the top too.
Ready Brek Flapjack: In a saucepan heat 400g soft spread, 300g brown sugar and 7 tablespoons of golden syrup. Add 3 mashed bananas, and slowly stir in 900g or Ready Brek. At this point you can optionally add in chocolate. Line a deep tray and add the mixture. Cook for 25 minutes at 180 degrees/Gas mark 4. Allow to cool then cut into shape.
Ideas that Can be Prepared the Night Before
Ready Brek Smoothies: Again utilizing frozen fruit and sneaking in some spinach (or kale). Add a tablespoon of Ready Brek and 150ml semi-skimmed milk to 100g of strawberries and a handful of blueberries. You could then experiment with the fruit and maybe even add some honey. If you are feeling really healthy you could try switching the fruit for vegetables.
Ready Brek Overnight Oats: Especially good If you are in a hurry in the morning, In a kilner jar put a layer of Redy Brek, then on top a layer of Greek yogurt. Next a layer of fruit and then repeat again until you reach the top. Refrigerate overnight.

We have been trying to eat more Ready Brek at the moment too, the children aren’t keen on porridge so we’ve been coming up with alternative ways to eat it!
Must try Ready Brek for overnight oats. I find normal porridge oats don’t soften up enough for me, but Ready Brek is finer so I think it would work better.
I love Ready Brek in smoothies as it makes it so creamy. You’re post is making me hungry!
Adding this to my grocery list 😉 Will find a way to incorporate it into the interesting ideas you’ve posted.
Yummy! We love Ready Brek in my house – my husband has it with maple syrup and some porridge oats stirred in for texture, I have it with banana and raisins, whilst my daughter has it with blueberries and cinnamon 🙂
I used to love Ready Brek when I was younger. I’ll have to give some to the boys and see if they like it.
I love Ready Brek and now that the cooler weather is on its way, it is a great warming way to start the day
Another one on this list of must try smoothies. I’ll make sure to get Ready Brek first.
I also use it in making beer. Seriously! I wouldn’t drink that for breakfast though 🙂
We love Ready break in our house too, great breakfast but great ideas on what else to make with it
Oh I do like a breakfast flapjack – perfect for on the go. Such great breakfast tips and all really healthy

I love ready break and have their porridge everyday but not used them oats to make my overnights yet though I do include them in my smoothies
I love the overnight oat idea.
If you like it sweet try using xylitol instead of sugar and is good for you
I am a diabetic and never used to like eating breakfast. I find ready brek is light in texture and easy to make. I have it with strawberries, grapes or kiwi.
