The Scooby-Doo Phantom Flyer from Flair is just perfect for any Scooby-Doo fan. It spins up to 2ms high and glows in the dark. The well-loved Scooby-Doo hangs tight to the balloon and sits in the basket, as it spins around and around. It flies high in the air and goes down to the ground. It is meant to be guided with your hand – but this is harder than it sounds – although a lot of fun. Or it can auto fly around the room.
It requires 4 X AA batteries (not included) in the base, which takes 30-40 minutes to charge. When charging there’s a flashing purple light, which stops blinking when fully charged. Once charged it can fly for around 4-5 minutes. There are plenty of warnings about not touching the blades, and keeping it at arm’s-length. Simply press the button underneath and keep your hand under the basket – after a little while it will take off. This product is suitable for those ages 5 and upwards. It cannot be played outside, it cannot be played in the vicinity of other Phantom Flyers – oh and it seems so obvious now but be aware of what else is around in the environment (like a ceiling fan! Or glasses!)
Verdict of Scooby-Doo Phantom Flyer
I am really useless with screwdrivers so did not like the fact that I needed to find/use one and provide 4 batteries once I had gotten it out of the box. Then the boys were not too thrilled that they had to wait so long to play with it. In fact because they wanted to see it glow we took it out in the evening, therefore due to the length of the time it took to charge they had to go to bed. The Scooby-Doo Phantom Flyer was a bit crazy and not easy to control at all. The boys thought that this was a lot of fun though. Yes it glowed in the dark – but not very well at all. I think they were also disappointed with how quickly it ran out of charge. But it was a crazy 4/5 minutes of running around and fun. It bashed into quite a lot (including our moving ceiling fan) and did not break. It kept its balance well and did not topple over.
RRP £19.99 available at Argos and currently can be bought on their 3 for 2s on all toys. Just perfect for a Halloween treat, or put it away for Christmas
I received a free Scooby-Doo Phantom Flyer in order to review. All words and opinions are my own.
My eldest would absolutely adore this. He’s a massive Scooby Doo fan and anything that spins or zooms through the air is a hit. I can see this being a lovely little Christmas gift for someone.
This is exactly the sort of thing that Ozzy would go nuts for!
