Canvas Design – High Quality Bespoke Prints Review & Giveaway

I was approached by Canvas Design, one of the UK’s leading printers of canvases, who provide high quality, bespoke prints for their customers. They wanted me to review a 18×14 inch Canvas, run a giveaway and offer a discount code to my readers.

There is something about a Canvas hanging on the wall that I feel makes a home really special. We first had one done of my husband and myself for our 10th wedding anniversary. I think too often we take photos on our phones or digital cameras and the images remain digital.

It is nice to get them out on display and can be a nice way to add a touch of colour about the place. We painted all our walls white as it is much cheaper to do, and so neutral, so adding a picture really makes it homely. I think seeing images of them hanging proudly on the walls also gives children a sense of pride, and helps build their self-esteem.

Canvas design review

We had previously had  a small canvas from the place where we had our Christmas photoshoot and were told to be careful not to pick an image too dark, that there are issues when it wraps around the frame. To be honest I had completely forgotten this advice when selecting a photo of my 10 year old son on the beach one winter’s day. I selected this picture because I felt it was a poignant moment in time.

Canvas design review

Our son has just received the news that he has got into Grammar school. This picture feels like it is a visual reminder of the start of his journey into adulthood (and leaving me). The picture is dark and he walks alone. The angle is tilted making it look like a steep way for him to go. But he walks confidently on.

I love all the shades of blue from the sun and the sea. There is a gorgeous reflection of his shape in front of him. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive that this picture could look as good in a bigger size on canvas – but I need not have worried. In fact it was only when the very securely wrapped package was opened that I realised how proud I was of this photo. Not just of the clever young man before me, but that I had taken it. Any other canvases we have had printed have had a professionally taken photograph on them.

My verdict on Canvas Design

I was impressed with how easy it was to order. I received a text message the night before to let me know when my Canvas would be delivered (and options for delivery), then again on the day a one hour time slot. The canvas was really well wrapped in bubble wrap, lots of cardboard and fragile tape. The canvas was not at all damaged. The picture was well wrapped around the frame, with the picture going around the frame. The quality of the picture and the colours were really good. My husband and father-in-law used to be printers so can be quite fussy about print. I definitely recommend them.

  5. I have loads of pictures of my daughter Isabella up in the house, but I have none of my youngest Alice so I’d better try and balance the house out a bit and get a pic of Alice. I was going to say a pic of the two of them, but it’s near impossible at the moment as Isabella doesn’t like Alice touching her so the only pics I have of the two are either with me or dad or there is at least 1 ft between them!! 🙂

  8. The picture I would have on canvas is a photograph my wonderful mother took of willow trees on the bank of a river in the park she used to frequent. She took the picture with a disposable film camera. The picture is a great one not for the framing, content, light variation throughout the image, colour balance and mystical beauty but it was taken by my very own mother! I later digitized the photograph using a scanner and a computer and would love to have a canvas print of it not only for my wife and I to enjoy but for my visitors too.
