Bolts and Blip: Battle of the Lunar League

The story follows best friends Bolts and Blip who are Civi-Bots (the ones who are uncool and not very good at sport). In the year 2080 the moon is endanger as evil Dr.Blood devised a plan to create The Blood Bots to infiltrate The Lunar League (a tournament where robots (Battlebots who are cool and athletic) compete for the humans on Earth so that there is no more war – until Bolts and Blip spoil his plans.

Bolts and Blip: Battle of the Lunar League

The Lunar League has 5 competing teams and Blip discovers a glitch to sneak him and bolts into the bottom team – The Thunderbolts. The Thunderbolts’ leader is Saedee, and together he three of them work together to make sure that they win the game using friendship. Blip soon discovers his special powers and becomes a hero. First they beat The Tread Heads – a team of chainsaw robots who like to slice people. Lead by the most veracious captain The Giant Tread Head with saw wheels, saw hand and giant water blaster they do extremely well at most combat events in the lunar league. Next they beat The Blood Bots – they don’t want to win anyway they are just looking for Dr. Tommy’s bot so that they can destroy it for Dr. Blood. They tie with the Galaxy All Stars (a team of super athletic strong robots lead by the captain Tigrr Jaxxon (who is voice by the familiar Patrick Warburton who also appears in The Emperor’s New Groove, The Bee movie, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, Mr Peabody and Sherman and others)).  But Blips’ best friend Bolts becomes envious of him and betrays him by working with Dr. Blood and his Blood Bot minions. Now Blip must save his best friend form the evil grips of power and defeat Dr. Blood once and for all.

Bolts and Blip: Battle of the Lunar League

This film is perfect for my sons with Space, Robots and waterguns! Well my older son (12) was disappointed that it was water but I think this makes it more family friendly and suitable for all ages; plus it means they are more likely to want to go outside and have a water fight with their own guns! The out of this world adventure is from the makers of ‘The Nut Job,’ Bolts and Blip: Battle of the Lunar League has a great storyline and graphics it appealed to a range of ages. My boys have watched it several times and it has really engaged their interest.

  2. My son loves robots and we watch a film every now and then. It’s relaxing, gives us a little time to snuggle but this film would be right up his alley. I will admit, that i would “pretend” to enjoy it…Not a big kid at all! 😀
