The Snackeez Design
The brightly coloured cup has a handy grip section to ensure it does not slip through anyone’s fingers. First place your favourite drink into the cup, leaving enough room to screw on the snack container. The cup itself holds up to 450ml of liquid: This can be anything you fancy milkshakes, smoothies, juice, (I can’t see why you couldn’t have hot drinks although it obviously isn’t insulated so won’t keep them warm, and generally people do not drink hot drinks through a straw): I like to use the cup to encourage my children to up their water intake – but it can be whatever you fancy.
The tight seal will prevent spills or accidents, even when moving around in a school bag or on the way to work, and also keeps food and drink fresher for longer – perfect for snacks on the go, picnics, etc (obviously you need to keep the cup upright though). The straw feeds through the snack container (but away from the food) and has an indent at the bottom, which stops the straw coming out of the straw and prevents spillage (although not completely as if you turn the cup upside-down liquid can obviously still come out of the straw.
The container then has a flip up lid – which shuts really securely so it does not just fall out. This holds around 115ml of food which can be anything you fancy: ice-cream, yoghurt, chocolate, marshmallows, sweets, crisps; or how about some healthy snacks – cucumber & carrot sticks, nuts, berries, strawberries, grapes, raisins, etc.
Suitable for the top rack of the dishwasher.
Thoughts on Snackeez
I think that Snackeez helps develop children’s independence because parents can let them carry both a drink and snack without the worry of them dropping it everywhere. It is a really convenient way to carry the two and especially good if another hand is required (whether that be to hold a door open, hold someone’s hand, hold something else, turn the pages of a book, etc). I think that the space for the snack is small – which isn’t a bad thing because it is meant to be a “snack.” I like how bright and colourful they are – which is especially appealing to encourage children to drink more. The non-slip grip is also a great part of the design to ensure that there are no accidents. It was easy to clean in the top rack of the dishwasher, and easy to store (taking up less space as the food storage fits into the cup). Overall I was really happy with the Snackeez I would just like to see a design of a cap to put on top of the straw to make it fully transportable (by being knocked upside-down) with no spills.
